Welcome to the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives - Call to Action

Governor Ted Strickland launched the Call to Action because he understands the important and meaningful role faith-based and other community groups - and their members - play in caring for vulnerable Ohioans. Strickland also recognizes that we face many challenges in Ohio and must work together to meet needs throughout the state.

The Call to Action seeks to recruit faith-based and community groups to initiate new (or expand their current) good work programs. Listed below are the service areas where we know your efforts will make a big difference.

Call to Action goals 500 mentors for youth 100 foster care or adoptive parents 500 Ohio Benefit Bank sites 100 financial literacy programs 250 volunteers to work in corrections and rehabilitation programs 50 summer food and learning sites 50 Adopt-A-Pantry commitments	Call to Action Pledge Card We will recruit new mentors for youth. We will recruit families to become foster care and adoptive parents. We will establish a financial literacy program within our community. We would like to help low/middle income families access work support benefits by becoming an Ohio Benefit Bank site. We will recruit volunteers to work in corrections and rehabilitation programs. We will become a summer food program and learning site. We would like to combat hunger by increasing the availability of food at a local pantry.
